One Page Spotlight started with a vision of enabling anyone who had an affinity towards art to display their work without a second thought. Whether it is singing, producing music, dance, photography or any other form, our idea has been to encourage artists to showcase their craft, enable them to find constructive work and eventually meet fellow artists whom they can collaborate with for future projects.
As we’re growing, we’re thrilled to have so many talented artists who have graced our platform with their incredible line of work. From aspiring musicians to prominent names, we have them all on our platform sharing their passion and love for their art.
In this article, we bring together 5 accomplished musicians in India who have stunningly merged their flair of modern music with the likes of Indian rhythms and we believe that their line of work undoubtedly deserves a mention.
1. Gino Banks
Gino Banks is one of the most well-known musicians in India who plays the drums like no other. Based in Mumbai, Gino Banks has been playing the drums from the age of 15 and has shared the stage with eminent personalities like Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia, Taufiq Qureshi and many others. Gino has worked with international artists like Bob Belden whose album Miles From India got nominated in the Contemporary Jazz Category in 2009 for the Grammys.
He is a music composer as well and is often known to collaborate with talented musicians like Giridhar Ghatam Udupa, Sheldon D’silva, Rhythm Shaw and many more. He runs his own studio production studio called Double Shift Productions.

Varijashree Venugopal was born to musician parents Vidwan Sri H.S. Venugopal and Smt. T.V. Rama. She was found to have the rare ability to identify about 50 ragas when she was an 18 month old toddler and about 200 ragas at the age of 4. Varijashree has had an illustrious career in singing as her work has been prominent across different mediums like television, documentaries, events, theatre productions, films and music albums. She has been interviewed by several local and international media outlets like BBC Birmingham for her exceptional talent.

3. Sheldon D’silva
Based in Mumbai, Sheldon is one of the finest bass guitarists who developed a passion for playing the bass guitar from a young age after receiving immense support from his father. He had the opportunity to meet the legendary jazz pianist Louiz Banks when he was just 13 and since then he has received tremendous support from him in helping him shape his career as a bass player.
He currently plays for the band Nexus with Gino Banks and Sangeet Haldipur. Sheldon has had an invaluable experience of performing around the world starting from performing with artists like Ustad Zakir Hussain to representing the Asian continent as a Music Ambassador to the John F. Kennedy Center in Washington D.C.

4. Pramath Kiran
Pramath Kiran is one of the most versatile percussionists that India has produced. Residing in Bangalore, Pramath plays an array of instruments like the Tabla, Morsing, Djembe, Congas, and Cajon as a result of his affinity towards playing the instruments when he was just a child. Pramath kiran has years of experience in mastering these instruments in their traditional form and has a special interest in integrating afro cuban music with indian classical tunes.

5. Arun kumar
Having learnt from stalwarts like Ranjit Barot, Arun Kumar is an established percussionist residing in Bangalore. Arun also plays various instruments like the mridangam, morsing and Latin percussion instruments like cajon, timbales.
He performed at the Barbican Centre, London with a 49-piece orchestra conducted by violinist Chandrashekar when he was as young as 21 and still continues to play with artists around the world. He is part of the 20-year-old band Layatharanga.
